Chat Wizard is an AI-powered language learning application that helps users practice English through text, voice, personalized feedback, learning recommendations, spaced repetition, progress tracking, and optional social learning features.

By using Chat Wizard, you agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

When you create an account or use Chat Wizard, we may collect information such as:

c. Study Circle Social Learning Data

If you choose to enable Study Circle, Chat Wizard may collect and process additional social learning data, including:

• Pet avatar selection
• Study Circle profile status
• Friend requests
• Friend relationships
• Muted or blocked users
• Predefined encouragement signals sent or received
• Study challenge participation and progress
• Privacy-safe learning status shown to friends, such as streak status, general CEFR level, daily goal progress, and whether you practiced recently
• Reports submitted about users or profiles

Study Circle is optional. By default, users do not have a public Study Circle profile. You must manually enable Study Circle before other users can find you through social discovery.

Chat Wizard does not allow other users to search for you by email address. Study Circle discovery is based on public username or profile link.

Study Circle does not include free-form user-to-user messaging in the current version. Social interactions use predefined encouragement signals designed to support learning and reduce abuse or spam.

d. Device and Technical Information

We may collect technical information about the device and network you use to access Chat Wizard, including:

• Device type
• Operating system
• App version
• Language and region settings
• IP address
• Device identifiers
• Crash logs
• Diagnostic data
• Performance data

e. Notifications Data

If you enable notifications, we may collect and process information necessary to send push notifications, such as:

• Push notification tokens

• Social notification preferences, such as Study Circle signals, friend requests, and study challenges

You can manage notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, through Chat Wizard settings.

We do not show your exact practice content, chat messages, pronunciation mistakes, detailed competency scores, email address, or exact online time to friends.

We may also disclose information when we believe it is necessary to:

5. Study Circle Safety and Privacy Controls

Study Circle is designed to support learning without aggressive competition or unnecessary exposure of personal information.

Study Circle includes safety and privacy controls such as:

• Optional activation
• Username-based discovery
• No email-based public search
• No free-form user-to-user messaging in the current version
• Predefined encouragement signals only
• Friend requests and accepted friendships
• Ability to remove friends
• Ability to mute social notifications from a friend
• Ability to block users
• Ability to report users
• Rate limits for social signals
• Privacy-safe learning cards
• No public leaderboards in the current version

When you block a user, that user will not be able to send you friend requests, signals, or challenge invitations. Reporting a user does not notify the reported user.

6. Advertising Tracking, Consent, and User Choices

Chat Wizard uses analytics and advertising technologies provided by third parties, including Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook), to measure app installs, registrations, subscriptions, and advertising effectiveness.

iOS Devices

On iOS, Chat Wizard complies with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. Advertising tracking data is collected and shared only if you grant permission where required. You can change your tracking preferences at any time in your device settings.

Android Devices

On Android, you may opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID through your device settings.

Promotional Communications

You may opt out of promotional emails or messages by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those communications or by contacting us.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to provide Chat Wizard, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the safety and security of our users.

Learning data, messages, voice transcriptions, progress data, and Study Circle data may be retained while your account remains active, unless you request deletion or unless a different retention period is required or permitted by law.

Some data may be retained in backups, logs, fraud prevention records, legal records, or security records for a limited period after deletion.

Deleting your account may delete or anonymize your account information, learning data, Study Circle profile, friend relationships, social signals, and challenge data, unless retention is required for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or compliance purposes.

10. Children’s Privacy

Chat Wizard is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Users who are 13 or older but under the age of majority in their location should use Chat Wizard only with appropriate parent or guardian permission where required by law.

Study Circle is designed with safety controls such as optional activation, username-based discovery, no email-based public search, no free-form messaging in the current version, blocking, reporting, and predefined social interactions.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than the country where you live. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your location.

When we transfer or process data internationally, we take reasonable steps to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
